Over the course of 6 weeks, you'll learn all of the basics of strength training so that you can confidently strength train in a group setting, at home or at any local gym. 

You'll learn proper form, injury prevention, how to modify exercises and everything you need to be successful with a group fitness program.  

And in 6 weeks you'll also build strength, improve your balance, reduce your fall risk and improve all of your longevity health markers.  The best is yet to come.

Our 6-Week Intro to Strength Training For Older Adults is a comprehensive beginner-friendly, Chiropractor and Athletic Therapist -led series built to help friends over 50 safely learn how to strength train either on their own or in a group fitness setting.

Whether you're starting from scratch, returning after a break, or just looking to build strength the right way — this program is your bridge to long-term fitness success without injury or overwhelm.   And there is no such thing as too late to start.  You can build strength, improve your balance and increase your healthspan at any age.

Who Is It For?
-Total beginners to fitness or group training who are over 50 years old
-People recovering from past injuries or nervous about getting hurt
-Anyone who wants to feel confident walking into any group fitness class
-People who want to improve form, increase strength, reduce fall risk, increase energy, improve balance and keep doing all the things they love with age.

We have seen how many people get injured simply because they weren’t taught the basics. This program is built with injury prevention at its core. We’ll teach you how to:

-Understand and master form on common exercises (squats, pushups, lunges, etc.)

From a very young age, Dr. Anthony has developed a strong interest in health and fitness. As an athlete throughout most of his life, Dr. Anthony learned the significance of body maintenance early on and how chiropractic can be a key factor in optimizing wellness. More importantly, he wanted the opportunity to give back to his community as the chiropractic profession had given him.

Born and raised in Halifax NS, Dr. Anthony provides his fellow Nova Scotians with the knowledge and necessities to achieve optimal heath and wellness. He is an advocate for helping others achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Anthony is passionate about determining the underlying causal factor of an injury or condition and applies the most evidence-based, patient-centered approach to care. Combining active release therapy (ART), manual therapy, clinical acupuncture, education and exercise prescription, Dr. Anthony is committed in providing patients with the most effective treatment plan in order to maximize their health, wellness and fitness goals.

Liam is a Certified Athletic Therapist From Halifax Nova Scotia. He attended Acadia University, graduating with a Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree in 2023. While attending Acadia, he was a part of the Athletic Therapy program, working with Varsity athletes providing Athletic Therapy services as a student therapist in the Jim Macleod Athletic Therapy Clinic. He achieved his certification as an Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) in July of 2023.

Liam has provided Athletic Therapy Services for a variety of teams and events, including the East Hants Penguins Jr B hockey team, the Halifax Wanderers Under 21 Football Club and the North American Indigenous Games.

As an Athletic Therapist, Liam has extensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. Liam believes in a holistic approach to treatment, combining manual therapies, patient education and a movement based approach to help patients achieve success in their rehabilitation.
