About Dave Perry & Bobby Pederson

PGA of Canada Professional, David Perry.

A member of the PGA of Canada since 2000, David is thrilled to bring his exceptional teaching acumen to the Dormie Workshop & Evolve Fitness.

David has guided students of all ages and skill sets throughout his golf career. He has worked at some of the best golf clubs and resorts in Canada, including the Algonquin Resort, The Royal Montreal Golf Club, Ottawa Hunt Club and Ashburn Golf Club. Halifax is now home for him and his family.

David has always been a student of the game attending conferences and seminars conducted by world renowned coaches such as Pia Nilsson, Lyn Marriot, Sean Foley, Dr. Joseph Parent and putting guru Marius Filmalter to name a few.

A former Nova Scotia Junior team coach and current Nova Scotia Development Program coach, David is excited to be partnering with Dormie Workshop and the new Dormie Leisure Club facility.

Growing up playing competitive sports I always knew when my playing days were over I wanted to stay involved in athletics and make my passion into a career. After graduating from Dalhousie University, I worked for three years as the Director of Athletics and Head Off ice instructor at a private school in Nova Scotia, then began working with clients and athletes full time.

I have been a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the past 18 years and currently work with general population, rehabilitation clients and athletes /teams at all levels. I take pride in providing programs for my clients using science-based training to allow them to reach their full potential. I like to use those same training principals with general population clients to improve balance, strength flexibility, and overall health.

Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and am an avid golfer that competes competitively throughout the province. 

Fitness Assessment Explained

The TPI Screen examines human movement and how your movement restrictions are affecting your golf swing.  It focuses on the movement, strength, and flexibility of the human body in relation to striking a golf ball.  This is critical, as a golf swing is a dynamic and engaging movement with stability and body posture in motion that doesn't always come natural to human beings.

Dave will then analyze your swing speed, ball speed, launch angle and spin so you can assess your results over time.
